Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of Personal Information for users of the WalkMotive: Steps With Purpose mobile application (the “Service”). By accessing, downloading, or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. The Personal Information we collect is used solely to provide, maintain, improve, and secure the Service. We will not use or share your information with third parties except as explicitly described in this document. Terms not defined herein shall have the same meaning as in our Terms of Service.
We collect only the information necessary to deliver and enhance the Service. The categories of data we may obtain include:
• Account Information: When you sign up or log in using Google, Apple ID, or other supported platforms, we receive your email address, full name, and profile picture (if provided). This data is used to create and manage your account, sync activity across devices, and verify your identity.
• Advertising ID (IDFA / GAID): We collect your device’s advertising identifier to prevent fraud, improve ad targeting, and support personalized in-app offers. This data does not reveal your personal identity directly.
• IP Address: Your IP address is collected to assess geographic region, enhance service security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
• Device Information: Including device model, operating system version, screen resolution, system language, time zone, battery status, network type (Wi‑Fi / cellular), and session timestamps.
• Activity & Usage Data: We log step counts, challenge progress, daily goals, feature interactions, session length, and reward eligibility. This helps us optimize motivation features and personalize your experience.
• Crash & Performance Logs: When the app experiences errors or crashes, we collect diagnostic logs to identify bugs, improve stability, and fix technical issues.
• Installed Apps (with consent): Our integrated ad SDK may request access to your installed apps list on first launch to improve ad relevance. You may decline this permission without losing access to core step-tracking features. We do not store or process this data.
We use collected information only for the purposes described below:
• To operate and maintain the Service, including tracking steps, managing challenges, and recording rewards.
• To personalize your experience, recommend goals, and deliver relevant content.
• To display personalized advertisements and sponsored offers.
• To respond to your inquiries, support requests, and account actions.
• To send important updates about the app, policies, or terms.
• To detect fraud, protect security, and enforce our policies.
• To analyze usage trends and improve features, performance, and reliability.
Information Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your Personal Information. We may share data only in limited circumstances:
• With trusted third-party service providers (advertising, analytics, cloud hosting, payment processing) who assist in operating the Service, bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.
• With ad partners to enable personalized advertising (using IDFA / GAID only).
• If required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request.
• In connection with a corporate transaction such as merger, acquisition, asset sale, or restructuring, where data may be transferred as a business asset.
• In aggregated, anonymized form that cannot reasonably identify you.
We implement industry‑standard security measures to protect your information:
• Data transmission uses TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption.
• Stored Personal Information is protected via encryption and access controls.
• Strict internal access limits ensure only authorized personnel handle sensitive data.
• Regular security reviews and system updates help reduce risk.
While we take strong precautions, no electronic transmission or storage system is fully impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain Personal Information only as long as needed to provide the Service or comply with legal requirements.
• Account and activity data is kept while your account is active.
• After you request account deletion, we immediately remove personally identifiable information such as your name, email, and profile.
• To prevent reward abuse or duplicate payouts, we may temporarily retain non‑identifiable payment‑related records for a limited period (not exceeding 6 months) as described in our Terms of Service.
• Anonymized analytics data may be retained for ongoing improvement.
You may request permanent deletion of your account and all associated Personal Information at any time:
Please include your registered email for verification. We will process and confirm deletion within 14 business days. Deleted progress, rewards, and account data cannot be recovered.
In the event of app errors, crashes, or performance issues, we collect Log Data via third‑party tools. This may include IP address, device model, OS version, app state, error codes, and timestamps. Log Data is used exclusively to diagnose and fix technical problems and does not identify individual users.
Cookies & Similar Technologies
The Service does not use first‑party cookies. However, third‑party SDKs (advertising, analytics) may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver their services. You can manage cookie preferences through your device settings. Disabling cookies may affect some personalized features but not core step tracking.
